Mellifluous Mumblings

There is a place in your mind,
Where if you search hard enough,
Not even the demons can find.
And in this room, you find a throne,
You approach it with care,
For it’s not your own.

What sits on this throne is what keeps you alive,
Without this throne, you wouldn’t survive.
What sits on this throne is the reason why,
When life gets you down, you choose to rise.

The room is safeguarded,
Till the day of your death,
Until your world falls apart,
and you breathe your last breath.

Be weary of what rules over you;
Know the reason you move.
For what rules over you,
Is something you, yourself choose.
